I have a Digitech RP250 mfx pedal. Works great. I have since switched over to stomp boxes, but not because there was any problem with the pedal.

The great thing about mfx pedals is you can find one for every budget. Most reputable brands in the 150 - 500 range I'm certain will give you good results, you just need to pick the one you like.

You probably should look for ones that have USB connectivity. You might not plan to record now, but I can almost guarantee you will. In a pinch I have used my guitar pedal to record vocals and everything else. If you already have a means to record, then USB isn't so important.

A looper is a nice feature to get. Mine has none and I really wish it did. :(

One thing all pedals might have (but maybe not, so I`ll mention it), is a Line transformer built in. so the RP250 has a line transformer built in so you can plug the pedal into a mixer board. That can come in real handy to plug directly into a PA and have amps and all your effects available.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
