I did... Goes to what looks like a new start-up guitar forum called "Guitars for Real Musicians".

I didn't see anything about any guitar kits, but then again, I didn't scour the forum looking for info.

Sorry to bump a month old thread...But I'm the admin of that start up forum that link goes too. I just happened to see this post so I thought I'd give some info.
Pretty much what were about are guitar players of all skill levels coming to gether with a focus on entry level and budget gear - finding acceptable/good gear with out the price tag to match.
