This solo I just recently mastered ( about a month ago ). But as carmine says: What do you need, a good tab or help on techniques ?

Thanks guys. I am looking for solo help and I have Boss GT 10. Which tone should be a good one to play the solo for Hotel California.

Thanks once again...

Well looking into the tone, I can give you some advice I suppose ;-)

I'm not really familiar with the Boss GT10 but since Boss is actually the same company as Roland the thing you should be looking for is a high gain setting or classic setting ( for that old and great tone ). I've had a Roland Cube 20x and that had some settings that could replicate that tone quite well.

As far as settings go, I would suggest Bass around 4, Mid and treble around 7 and a bit of reverb. If you have precense control I would also suggest setting it up around 7. Still it is also kinda dependant on which guitar you have, for example the ones like Don Felder or Joe Walsh use in the song both have different kind of sounds in terms of "tone warmth" etc.

You sure you don't need any help on the solo in technical or tabs or something like that ? Let me know if you do need help with that.

Good luck with these settings, you can mess around a bit and make the tone even bigger/ more fat if you want, just whatever your liking is ( in my opinion it is cool to have a kind of signature tone of yourself with these kind of things ).

This is a tricky solo to play well and if played correctly it requires good technique and strong fingers as some of the sting bends are tough. I've seen lots of people attempt this solo and very few play it correctly. A very good source for showing you how on a video step by step basis is "Licklibrary.com" if you are not familiar with this site you should check it out anyway as it has all sorts of great stuff on it.
