Awful sound using amp + pedals

So today I bought a Satchurator pedal to replace the distortion in my Vox Tonelab ST. But I haven't been able to get a tone that was better than god awful. I'm playing the pedal straight to my Behringer AC108 vintage that I got from a friend who didn't play it anymore.
Does the bad tone come from the old amp or is it just me who can't set it up right?

Well, he's using a wah for starters (or his tech is). And - pedal aside - the rest his gear would cost 10 times what you and I can afford.

Some tone tweak is needed, but I think you'll find your effect a lot closer just adding some wah.
