Long time pro guitarist here, with a bad shoulder and back! I need to find the best system for relieving the strain on my back and shoulder. I'm using a lightweight Yamaha electric RGX A2 with a strap that is supposed to distribute the weight more evenly across both shoulders, but still, at the end of a couple hours of performing, I'm a wreck.

Any suggestions as to the LIGHTEST ELECTRIC around, and perhaps a strap that might help, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you play live or with other people? If not, why not just sit down with the guitar?

Hey Midi the Veg...
here's a website for cause and cure for your pains..
Back in the day when I had severe back problems (muscle spazim) the Doc told me it was primarily from out of shape stomach.. I recieve an exercise chart to strenghten the problem area.. The following link may give you some tips to straighten you out...

http://www.drbookspan.com/NeckPainArticle.htm

You might also make sure you are staying hydrated..

A worse solution take a couple across the counter pain relievers 30 to 40 minutes before show time, also a back brace. There are diferent types for upper or lower back pain.

Good luck getting your back and shoudler painless.

Not likely, I'm the leader and front man of a band that plays upscale events.
