In anybody's opinion, what string brands would you recommend? Coated strings or just regular-normal strings? Thanks I appreciate the advice.

Normal strings and use Fast Fret. I get the same life out of my strings, but at regular string prices.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

I'm a fan of the Ernie Ball Super Slinky's myself.

I prefer the Elixer coated...
a lot of it is preference....which is why there are so many different kinds of strings!

I heard those are great, but I heard the thicker the string gauge, the heavier the tone. So I bought some .11-.48 strings. I think the Super Slinky's are easier to play on, but I want to help strengthen my fingers and build callus on my fingertips. Plus I think the .11-.48's are a perfect choice for me. Thanks for the advice though.

That is very true dude. I bought a few coated strings (Ernie Ball, Cleartone, RED) for my Acoustic and my Epiphone Les Paul. I will definitely try out Elixer Coated strings too. Thanks for the reccomendation
