whats this effect called and how do you do it?

i have a BOSS GT5 Processor and i would almost be certain it could perform this effect...

how do you hit a note...and sustain that note while you play other stuff...?
and what is that effect called?
once again...
you play a note on the guitar...(then do something with your effects machine) and the note keeps going until it fades out while you play other stuff...
that may be really easy to answer...but its really hard for me...:)

Might be a long delay coupled with reverb...
Or maybe just a loop (take your note and plays it over and over...)
I do not know the GT5, so I can't help you more than that...

It think i know the effect you mean, I have a Boss vf-1 and it has an effect called a 'feedbacker' I think this is what you you mean. I shall try it tomorow and see if it works i have only come across it a couple of times scroling through the patches, i shall re-post with my findings, i hope i can help!

Well i searched for it, it is definately called a 'feedbacker' I played a note, it sustained and I could play over it. It is in the SFX bit in the guitar multi2 FX bit(i'm so tecnical!) after the slow gear effect, which is really cool, hope i could help!

the boss ME-33 has sommat like that 2. its and auto-matic feadback generator. i use it for things like playing chords with the 2 high strings left open and slid up the neck for an orchestra of white noise
