Pick right position????

..What's the right position of the pick..i mean must be vertical with the thumb..?..i'am asking because i hold the pick a little bit indirectly..is that wrong..or i have to play in the way i feel comfortably?

The "academic way" of holding the pick is perpendicular to your thumb, between you thumb and your index's second joint. But Van Halen, Carlos Santana, among others don't use this technique, if you think you want to really learn the proper way, correct it while it is still time. If you don't care, just do it the way it feels comfortable.

You can hold it anyway it's most comfortable to you.

Well, it depends on what level of technical ability you need to reach. I have learnt along the way that there are things that you finally have to correct to really achieve excellence.
