Simple Strumming Exercises and Proper finger positioning

Hey folks Glad to be back and once again back again to guitar basics :) . Anyways Before going on any further with my next chord I though it be a good idea to improve on areas that are very simply but none the less crucial .

I want to improve not only my strumming because I definetely need the work but also proper finger placement on chords and where my thumb should be on the neck .

Reason I want to work on these two areas is because I notice that a lot of the buzzing I have experienced is not because of my guitar but because of hand position but also when I try strumming I'm strumming way too hard .

So I was wondering if there are any lessons that can help me with these two areas that I really need to improve before moving on .
