The basic patterns of the major scale as it covers the fretboard in various configurations is here (example in A major):

Those examples are movable as necessary. If you want B major scale, just move the entire pattern up two frets to place the root note (circled number 1) on the note B instead of A. Make sense? :)

Are you asking for just minor AND major scales? Or are you referring to melodic minor scales and others that mix the two?
