DIATONIC SCALE and minor scale
i had a question i was wondering if the diatonic scale and the minor scale are one in the same?

Yes, both the major and minor scales are types of diatonic scales.
A diatonic scale is any seven note scale that has a system of whole & half steps and repeats in octaves. The distinction would be scales that have less (or more) notes than 7. For example, the pentatonic scales are 5 notes scales. They also come in major and minor "flavors", but they only have 5 notes and are thus, pentatonic major and pentatonic minor. Makes sense?

yeah it helped alot I finished them like last week I'm now in rock 2 and I just got confused cuz he said "natural minor diatonic" so I didn't know what it was but now that I know it's just the minor scale I'm not confused thanks for the help

yeah it was fun i've actually been playing (covering songs) guitar for like a year and 8 months and dicided to learn how to actually "be" a guitarist =) and yeah your welcome for the compliment...and thanks again for the help take care man
