I usually search on youtube for some reviews, or on google, remember that you need to keep in mind that a crappy guitar on a big amp with lot's of effects can give you the illusion it sounds good in a video-review

I also use ultimate-guitar.com but there are a lot of kiddo's on there shouting around

I might be searching for a new acoustic guitar soon and I have no knowledge about acoustic guitars whatsoever so it'll be a long search.. but take the time and eventually you'll find something that fits
= good music is good drinking =

Ultimate Guitar and Harmony Central are two sites I use. As Guitarpsy says, be careful what you read. In particular, reviews by someone that has owned it for one day and is still in major fanboi mode.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Razbo gives excellent advice as do all the other guys. It is a learning curve and a very enjoyable one. I started with a cheap Yamaha acoustic. I then bought a really good acoustic and then another one but i still play the Yamaha from time to time and am now looking for my first electric. What I would add is, make sure you get the guitar set up right by a good guitar tech or you will be fighting 'em not playing them. You also want to feel comfortable with the guitar. One of mine has a shorter scale length and is easier to play for me and so it goes on. Best of luck. Your Tanglewood should be just fine if you get it set up properly. Good value for money usually.
