Razbo gives excellent advice as do all the other guys. It is a learning curve and a very enjoyable one. I started with a cheap Yamaha acoustic. I then bought a really good acoustic and then another one but i still play the Yamaha from time to time and am now looking for my first electric. What I would add is, make sure you get the guitar set up right by a good guitar tech or you will be fighting 'em not playing them. You also want to feel comfortable with the guitar. One of mine has a shorter scale length and is easier to play for me and so it goes on. Best of luck. Your Tanglewood should be just fine if you get it set up properly. Good value for money usually.
