I personally dont have that addiction. For 9-10 years of playing, I only own 4 guitars, and two of them I didnt even pay for. I have friends that have been playing as long as I and they own 7-8 guitars...

It doesnt help Im really picky about the "feel" of a guitar. Ill know within seconds if I dont like a guitar because of the "feel" of it.
