Hello all, I'm fairly new here, and have never worked with any PA system. In fact, I don't have a PA system, I just want to use my guitar amp.

So I have a vocalist live 3 vocal effects box, and the only output on this is an XLR, but when I put this into my guitar amp (Fender Frontman), there is very little in the way of volume. In fact, I cannot raise the gain high enough on the vocalist unit to ever get it into orange or red for that matter.

Does this mean that a guitar amp is basically useless for vocals period?

Hi,

Make sure that the "input gain" knob is turned up, it's next to the input jack.

If you have a mic that requires "Phantom Power", you'll need to turn on the little button above the input jack that says "48V".

You may want to try using the XLR out to your amp instead of the "guitar thru". You'll probably need an XLR to 1/4" plug for this.

Some amps have a "power amp input", this may help too.
