Sixpick,

I tried your cords but they do not sound right to me or with the backing track. All the song sheets I have found show just using the G, Gmaj7, C, Am, D and Dc note. There's an A & Em in there for the chorus part. I have the strumming almost down pat but need to work on the flip with the chorus.

Hey Crossbow,
I don't know why they wouldn't sound right, unless the backing track doesn't cover the intro. The chord I was talking about works with the little lead intro of the song, and also the verses. The G7 chord to me doesn't fit, which is why when I learned the song at least 20 years ago I found the other chord fit better.

Keep in mind, that what you find that someone contributed on these sites, is seldom accurate. I'm almost sure that it has been altered, and the backing track also to keep from getting into trouble with copyrights. If they are not officially licensed I would not trust the source. You can do what you want, but I was under the impression you really wanted to learn to play the song. I only gave you the intro, and that's how I still play and sing it most every time I perform.

I see they still list him as an instructor but he only has 6 country styles to offer and there is no "Ask Terry Couch" board to talk to him.

I don't believe in the 1-3/4 years that I've been here I've ever seen him or any "Ask" info for him either.

Terry is a friend of mine, and he actually persuaded me to submit my first lessons on here. This was back when we were posting mp3s, and text tab. I wish he would have but Terry didn't make the switch when we started doing video. He's a great player, and you could probably learn from the lesson with just an mp3.

I was only trying to help, and I wish it would have worked out for you. One other thing, I'm familiar with Rick and Razbo from here on the boards. I get a big kick out of them, but Rick posted this earlier.

I personally wouldn't ask one of the country guys anything about thrash metal but... You get my point.

Rick, I took a little offense to that, as I don't limit myself to just country. Don't let the cowboy hat fool you, I know how to rock too. I'm known on here for my country and bluegrass, but that doesn't mean I don't have knowledge of Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, and hundreds of others you wouldn't think an old country picker would listen to. My Dad always said don't judge a book by the cover, and now I pass this advice on to you. I know you mean't no offense, but I wanted you to know that I'm more than just country.
