I have an Epiphone Sheraton II, and when using a strap it is head heavy. If I let go of it, it swings right down towards the head stock. Is there a remedy for this such as a different strap etc. Any help is much appreciated.

Some folks use a leather strap which, unlined, is kind of 'grippy'. Alternatively, you can reposition the strap button. In the correct spot (higher on the back edge), I'm told, it can change the balance of the guitar. I've never done it and it requires drilling a hole.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Some guitars just have that weird balance thing. My Jackson V is the same way. Not necessarily "head heavy" I don't think, but the balance is just off from where the straps lock on. Makes it annoying to try to hold up.

Then you have double trouble because a V is not a great guitar to play sitting down either. :D
