Hey guys, I've been on here for a while but haven't posted anything. I love this site...

Just wanted to share some stuff I've been playing around with and see if any of you have had the opportunity to stuff around and what your thoughts are too.

I've been playing around with the Amplitube app on iPhone from IK Multimedia and I've been using the PRS guitarbud interface to use it. While I must say, the PRS guitarbud is lower quality than I would expect from the guys at PRS, the Amplitube program is pretty cool!

I was playing around with it just using headphones and that was quite nice, turn the volume back a touch and then rock out. I used the free version and it was pretty cool, considering there were other paid apps out there that couldn't even TOUCH the amplitube free. Then I upgraded to the full version and that's been GREAT! I haven't touched on everything that I could do with it yet, but it's been a lot of fun.

Next thing I need to do is get the iRig interface to see how that improves the sound, with the current cable it's a little noisy, so I'm hoping for an improvement there.

During playing around with it I decided to try it out on a few amps. I have a Laney VC50 2x12 combo valve and it sounds AWESOME with the extra tone dialled in through a valve amp. I'm to the point where I am trying to find a way to dial it directly into a sound system to use it for music practices - I think that running it into my sonic maximer should make that work nicely. The only real problem that I find with the app is that sometimes there are pops and clicks in the sound but I am thinking thats predominantly due to the cheapo connector that I am using - I'm hoping when I get a hold of the iRig interface that it will work WAAAAAY better :)

Any of you guys had the opportunity to play around with this yet? What are your thoughts?

If you have an iphone or ipod touch, try out the Amplitube for iphone and if you can get it use the iRig interface! I'm getting the interface soon, I've been using a different connector which has some problems but I'm definitely going to get the iRig soon to make it work better.

Amplitube for iphone is pretty cool :)
