Eh folks , I just wanted to get ask since that guitars humidifiers are often needed to keep acoustic guitars in prime condition if I actually need one , Now I do most of my guitar playing in a room at relatively between 50 to 60 % humidity

Reason ai'm asking is while I am going to invest in a hard topped guitar case , I like to leave my guitar on a stand

I like stands and hangers, too. Guitars in cases don't get played. :)

As far as a humidifier, if you want to take absolute best care of your guitar, you should use one. I don't recall what guitar you have, but the more expensive, the more likely you will want to do this, obviously.

For me personally, I don't bother. I kind of demand a certain level of fortitude from my instruments, such as being able to survive where I do with no special treatment.

My dad has a Martin from the 40's. It has wear, to be sure, but nothing on it that I would say was an environmental issue. I remember playing with it like a toy when I was little. It was not enshrined or even kept in a case, but has survived quite well.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Thanks Razbo The type of guitar I have is a robson , not even a real brand name I think it's basically just a normal brand guitar , not like a martin and yamahas and such .

My guitar was part of a guitar pack that I got at best buy for 150 $ and most musicians that i know say having a inexpensive guitar for starting out is fine
because for the 1st year you'll be learning the basics .

But yeah from what my brother steve told me when you get real good then it's time to consider getting a real good brand guitar like ibanez or something
