can anyone suggest a good book which has lots of rhythm patterns and a cd that comes with it.
Hey gmixstudios, If you really want to add to your rhythm playing, and learn some very useful patterns. Check out these tutorials, and you'll learn methods that can be used in many styles.
I know your post was about a book, and I don't know of one. These tutorials will definitely give you new ideas for rhythm, and maybe new ways to use what you already know.

Pick up an AC/DC song/tab book. Lots of their stuff is centered around 3-chord progressions. Good ole' "Back In Black" would be an ideal starting point.
No better rhythm player than Malcolm, in my opinion.
