I believe that the world was created, and that we are not here by mere chance. I believe that God is real and He made man in His image.
This would then mean that we did NOT evolve as some claim, the world nor man came from a bang or any one cell fish.

I also believe that the Bible is the word of God and that it serves as a guide to man, just as the owners manual gives instruction on how to care for the car.

I also believe that every man has the right to choose to believe whatever he/she wants, but it doesn't determine that it is the truth. Man is entitled to his own opinion and I must respect every body's point of view.

This is just a glimpse of my belief. What do You believe?

If I replied, it would create a lively and interesting discussion which could possibly degenerate into an arguement. You can understand how some people may think that this type of post is not suited to this forum.

all I want to say is that I think faith is an amazing thing when it gives you strenght..

I will not reply on my thoughts about religion though, in my opinion faith is too personal for me to discuss one's belief and it can cause harm too fast

if I sense that there is a sensible discussion possible (god forbid? :p), I'll share my thoughts

Religion is something created by man. It's just another gang.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

As much as I am a christian , In my honest opinion I agree with Mike as well , I learned early on that religion is a very touchy subject and so i think a post on the forums about this will do more harm then good .

My mom once told me that we need to respect all religions regardless what our stance is on the said topic .

It is stated in the posting guidelines of this forum that Political and Religious discussions are not allowed.

Tread very lightly as warnings and/or banning could be possible for participating in a thread like this.
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

Truly I've learned to respect persons opinion on whatever the subject may be, hence the reason this post was posted. It's not to generate any kind of argument whatsoever.
It's not to touch on religion at all, but instead to share and listen to others point of view. I think this could be a healthy discuss and does not have to turn to an argument.
I definitely don't want to start an argument and neither do you, as a matter of fact the first sign of one, I'll be the first to run.

I had no idea. The last thing I want to do is to get anyone in trouble.

Hm, I wonder why... And that is not sarcasm.

As long as people are respectable and remain civil, wheres the problem? They can simply ban the ones that get out of line, easy enough I would think.

Anyway, I don't have a religious affiliation. In society I would be considered an atheist.

Which automatically brings me to an immediate point, why does there have to be a name or word for a group of people for something in which you are not?

Is there a word for somebody who in not a guitarist/musician? Is there a word for somebody who doesn't have blond hair? Is there a term for not being a mechanic? No there isnt, why does there have to be a word or a name for not believing that there is the big guy upstairs?

Over all these years, the atheist term has became something that has such a negative connotation among society. Such as if one who would be considered an atheist must be immoral, or somebody who uses drugs, or he must be a criminal etc. I don't like saying I am an atheist because I know some people automatically stick me in one of those groups, outrageous!

I have been studying Objectivism for awhile. It was a philosophy that best suited me, because everything I read on the philosophy was how I was raised to begin with. But once I started studying it, it solidified what I already believed, it gave me essentially a foundation, an answer to why I believed what I always have.

One thing it teaches is that you don't need a religion to have morality. Man needs to be moral to simply work with other humans in order to progress in this world. That's a very simplistic way of putting it when it comes to the philosophy. Trust me, there's a lot more to it than that :p

Ya I saw this thread yesterday and knew it wouldn't get far. Doesn't really belong in the forum I don't think.

At first I thought this was a troll but it looks more like genuine naivete.

This forum would be spoilt if this thread attracted the kind of response that it potentially could; though in truth I doubt that would happen.

Jarsew - that was a well worded and reasoned response and sums it up nicely!

Why thank you !

Politics, religion, philsophy discussions definitely have a tendency to get nasty, but of course they dont have to; and so far everything is fine and dandy!

Whether or not these subjects should or shouldnt belong on this forum; I think its nice to know more about our fellow forum-posters than just what music they like or what guitars they own.

And that's the whole intent.

Didn't think it would have brought out such heat, for this guys I'm truly sorry.

Hmm and here I thought I was a part of a guitar community, now where did I put that cancel button...
God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son”
Abe says, “Man, you must be puttin’ me on”
God say, “No.” Abe say, “What?”
God say, “You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin’ you better run”
Well Abe says, “Where do you want this killin’ done?”
God says, “Out on Highway 61”
