Hey everyone,

Well a couple weeks ago I purchased a Tom Delonge Strat (Love it!) and my dad's boss who gave me my first guitar was over for the day, and he showing me how to do harmonics, and when he got one to sound he kind of grabbed the neck and pushed it up and to the side to make the tone go wah or whatever, and I was holding the guitar and I could feel he put some decent force behind it, my question is, will the neck be ok. I just kind of sat there in shock as he did it, now im kind of paranoid if this hurt the guitar. Just kind of a nagging thing in the back of my brain, of course it seems to play perfect still, but can anyone put my worries to rest, would this have hurt the guitar at all? Thanks in advance guys!

Not if you don't bend it too far. Going too far can really mess up your neck, but I have yet to do hurt a guitar doing that myself.

Bottom line: just be careful.

Well he only did it for a second, i mean it was real short, but if it really messed up the neck, wouldnt it be quite obvious, wouldnt it play horibble etc? It seems to play just as beautifully as it did before, I personally never bend the necks on guitars for effect (and never will on mine), and I have babied this one, but I couldnt really say anything when he did it, just pray that it didnt mess my baby up! =) (p.s. It has some string rattle on the top string, but that was there before, and isnt that on all strats?)

Your Strat is just fine. If that had been an early SG or LP Junior, you'd have two pieces of wood tied together with a half-dozen strings.

Did the harmonic sound something like wood cracking? Don't worry, Strats are tough, and if thats the worse thing that ever happens to it you"re a lucky man
