No. I don't see any disadvantage to it.

The left hand is the fingering hand. To me that is the harder job, so it doesn't put me at a disadvantage.

All the training materials (here and everywhere) are set up for the right handed view. So you would have a much harder time learning to do everything backwards from the training materials if you switched to a left handed guitar.

You can safely move on from this topic and just work on learning. In the beginning both hands are totally awkward :)
