I have a question about your tip #47 - the two most important notes. I understand it is the third and the seventh taken from the minor scale(in this case G and D) In the examples you are using the key of E. Does that idea work in songs in both minor and major keys of E, or one and not the other. If I am playing in major keys are they the same notes(from the minor scale) Obviously in a major scale the third and the seven are different notes(a G#, and D#). I know playing minor scales over major keys is pretty common in rock and blues. I seem to be missing something as it doesn't seem to sound very good when I am playing the 2 minor scale notes of E against a song in E major( for example , the progression of I VI V IV) . Are there other factors to be considered or am I just not happening to get the groove.
I really could use more tips along these lines for soloing. I
Thanks
