Congrats on the Strat! :) If the strings are the same as you are used to, I can't think why you'd find it different on the strings themselves.

Some other factors may be coming into play, though such as the Strat probably having a thicker neck than your Ibanez. What scale was the Ibanez? The Strat would be a 25 1/2 and if your other geet was 24 3/4, just the increased distance might be noticeable to you.

Try some Fast Fret. Makes everything better and your strings last longer, too.
