I'm with you, I find a good tube amp and guitar give me alot of tonal flavors, I see the trend with most of tube speciality builders being to build an amp that has one great sound, and the people who want that particular sound coming to them because thats exactly what they want, like Matchless, Torres, Bad Cat, Victoria, Dr.Z etc, the more mainstream builders seem to be focusing on the 3 channel amps, offering as much flexability as they can, and the solid state folks trying to come up with one amp that will sound like every amp built in the last 50 years, which is ok if someone needs that for their type of gig, but I don't think they'll be winning any awards for great tone
