it was something like you just put another g string on instead of a b, and just tune everything the same. its supposed to actually make a difference in the sound, I think make it kind of fuller. its not a different tuning Im pretty sure its just using a different string. anyone know what Im talking about? I cant remember exactly what it is, and Ive been trying to find it. if you think you know what Im talking about, please share. thanks.

All that is is using a thicker gauge for your b string it seems. Don't know why you'd want to. I technically would make it "fuller" but just that one string. Then You'd have to buy 2 pairs of strings just to use 1 from the set.

Well, try it out, see if you like it. Strings are very inexpensive. I have a friend who has been playing guitar for 20 some years. For his low e string, he uses a bass guitar string. And an odd miss match. Not something I'd do but it works for him and what he plays.

I've heard of understringing

The strings are 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th

this makes the strings lighter and easier to play for beginners

Back when I was learning guitar in the 60's we didn't have light guage sets yet, so we would use two high E strings for the E and B and then use a B for the G and so on till the low E would actually be a A string. All we had to do was buy an extra high E string for less than a dollar (then)
There are so many resources now for beginning guitar players thanks to the net. I am overwhelmed by most of them... I think Guitar Tricks is a great site too.
