I just brought home my new Schecter Damien 6. Granted I'm a newbie but it was a pretty big step up from my Dean Vendetta XMT. Don't get me wrong the Dean did what it was supposed to do and that was provide me an economical way to see if I liked playing guitar.

The Schecter is really nice. It's solid, satin black, EMG pickups, thin neck and some cool pearl bat inlays on the fret board. I have it matched up with a Peavey Vyper amp and I'm satisfied!

That is a nice looking guitar. If you are satisfied, you will want to learn and play so it is not lost. You tried it first and went from there, so not really that big of a step.

I started playing a month ago. Had an old 3/4 ovation which is what I started on, decided that I wanted to play so I bought myself a knock off strat pack with cheap amp, then I bought myself a Ibanez Talman electric acoustic, then I bought a line 6 spider IV 15 amp, so all told I spent about 700.00ish. So for only playing 1 month I jumped in with both feet. You are not alone my friend. Because I like my equipment I don't ever want to put it down. Not a big leap at all.

Play On!

Congrats, that's a cool choice!

I'm looking at buying this Hellraiser myself soon: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Guitar-Research-Hellraiser-C1-Electric-Guitar?sku=484197
