Sorry I didn't elaborate but i was short on time. I was just trying to point you in a direction. Mainly to Lisa's barr chord tutorial where I had been resently studying..
Are you referring to a particular barr chord, or all barr chords..
As for posture are you meaning just your hand or your whole body.. How your guitar hangs can make a difference.. If it hitting your lap while sitting it can push your guitar at an angle that changes your hand position..
I have found that for myself that if my index finger is flat I also have a deaden of some string. Deaden from the flesh too soft. I tend to roll the index finger slightly towards the the thumb..
Most often if I get a buzz, it is from a fingernail hitting an adjacent string and I have to adjust that finger away from the affected string..
I hope this give you something to work with..
If not , you might post directly to Liza or Chris
Have a geart day and keep on picking

You could try Barring the chord higher up the neck, where the frets are closer together
Eventually you can slide the barred chord down the neck again

To begin with you could try using the side of your first finger

The side closest to you thumb

By A string bar chords, I presume you mean A form like C at the 3rd, D at the 5th and so on. You aren't barring the 6th string, right? You don't need to play that one.

You can largely get by without using the full bar if you don't need it. Don't worry about not getting a clean high e if you can't get it right off. Just target the first 4 strings of the bar. That will make the chord easier, and you will get it full on eventually.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

Yep as Razbo says:

By using the pick on the fifth string and going down your playing the root note of the chord first.
