F chord
I am having a heck of a time trying to finger the F chord, if my index finger is flat, I am having a hard time getting the others up & over without touching a lot of strings. Any suggestions, I am doing the guitar fundamentals & am stuck here.

Hi whend, you must be new around here because this must be the most posted subject on this site!
If you have a look through, you'll find so many suggestions but I'm sure one will be the answer for you.
Don't worry, everybody has had this problem at some time.
Dave.

Don't get discouraged... the F-chord is a tough one for beginners.
Just keep at it... your fingers need to strengthen, and they will. The F-chord nearly made me give up the lessons... it can be frustrating. But if you keep with it, it will come.

Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

Hi whend,
Most time for beginners it's caused by holding the guitar where they can see where they place there fingers..
Try rolling the top of your guitar away from your body and try the neck at different positions.
Also try to relax your hands. Tight muscle fight each other..
Good Luck and keep pickin'
