All... I have the Boss GE-7 Equalizer. A great pedal in on it's own. I never had an issue with it until I plugged it into my new tube amp. I'd heard storys about it being a noisy pedal, but never noticed it with my vintage solid state amp.

Once I plugged it into my tube amp, I was overcome with the dredded hiss that everyone had mentioned. Solution? The Monte Allums GE-7 Mod. That has to be the best $29.99 I've spent on any of my gear. That pedal is totally quiet now and he adds components to even make the pedal sound better. Also, in the past when I was plugged into my vintage solid state amp, you could always tell a difference when I turned the pedal on and off. Now, when the knobs are all at midpoint, you can't tell that the pedal is in the chain, guess you could say it's a perfect bypass.

if you have the Boss GE-7, I highly recommend this mod. It's relativly easy if you're familiar with a soldering iron and the rewards for your work is more than worth it.
