Yes, I run my PODx3 out directly to my laptop via USB cable.
You're saying that this is not optimal? That I would still want an interface? I know that Reaper directly supports ASIO which POD does as well and Reaper recognizes my PODx3.
I'm not agruing the point, I'm just curious as to why you would not recommend this aproach.
