I was recently given a new phone at work that has Windows mobile OS. I found a application called Sight Reader for Guitar. It shows a music staff with a random note. Below this there is a guitar neck. The object is to click the correct spot on the neck to represent the note show on the staff. The notes inside the staff are becoming easier but those above and below still cause me some trouble.

The program does more than this but this is all that I have worked with so far. It was a free download and is easily found on a google search. Or, I can post it if you can't find it.

My question is about the existence of a PC version of this. Anyone heard of a shareware of freeware version of something similar? I found something similar but it doesn't tell you if you are right or wrong.

You're welcome. My favorite is NoteCard. I'm still trying to learn to sight read so I use it with my PC keyboard. Later, when I learn the notes I'll start using the fretboard with it.

I installed SightReader but it wouldn't fire up because it wanted an old dll; if you're at knowledgeable of computer programming, I believe it dated back to the VB5 days. I didn't want to mess with it so I uninstalled it.
