which scale?

hello there if i had a given chord progression, how do i determine which scale to play over the top?

Hi,
That would depend on the chord progression you were playing over.

I think maybe you'd try to find the scale that the chords fit and play from that. If your progression used D A & G..., you could play A minor scale or C major.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
