Hello,

Yesterday I received this guitar. I am a very beginner and this guitar caught my interest for its price (So if the guitar is not my thing I will not have lost too much) and that it was plug & play with the computer.

Ok, I unpack the guitar and plug the USB cable into the PC and the iAXE 629. The PC did not recognize the guitar. Ok, I thought. Let’s try on the MAC. Same result.

Then I started to search several sites and discovered that it was a driver issue with Windows 7. Wonderful. I downloaded via the Behringer website the required drivers and in the Device Manager of Win7 I can see the iAXE 629 is connected via the USB and also the Behringer sound driver is loaded. Still no sound. I tried to play around with the sound settings under Win7, such as; setting the Behringer as input and recording, but still nothing. When I start the supplied guitar Combo software and touch the guitar strings I clearly see the meters show an input, so I believe it is a driver (setting) issue

I wrote a mail to Behringer and they replied as to an answer about the iAXE393 although I have clearly mentioned that I have the 629. Further more they told me that you can not get the guitar play through the PC, but that you would need headphones. Huh??? On the specs of both guitars it is clearly mentioned:

Plug this amazing USB-guitar straight into your computer and turn your PC or Mac computer into a guitar amp and recording system without the need for any other hardware.

Can someone help me to get the sound of this guitar through the speakers of my PC as it is supposed to be? Oh yeah, I connected the same guitar as well to a Windows XP PC and also there no sound.

Thanks in advance,

Jan

Edit: Did some more searching and as it looks now the USB is only there for the "communication" with the supplied software. So, I picked op a Vypyer 15 amp and will plug all in this evening and hope for the neighbours that they are out of town.....
