Ok, well I have wanted to play the guitar for ages, and finally I plucked up the courage to buy myself a Yamaha f310 acuostic guitar. Well I bought the "guitar coach" cd and it makes no sense sometimes! Sooo..

I would greatly appreciate it if you veterans of the strings out there could point me in the right direct!

I wanna learn the guitar basically, so any advice you guy's can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Poke around the site, you'll find lessons from absolute beginner's level to advanced tapping and what not.

If I were you I'd concentrate on tuning and learning basic chords. If you can, have a friend show you a few things though actual lessons will get you where you want to be going a lot faster.

yeah my mate plays the style of music I like, he's gonna show me some stuff sunday. I have already tuned my guitar. But as many know strings tend to stretch when they are new so I keep checking to see they are in tune!

I always found the lessons you can get for free from http://www.about.com (search for guitar) by Dan Cross where very very good. When I was starting out I was having difficulty with understanding alot of the CDs/Books etc that our out their, but I found this website to be very clear and useful.

Make sure your friend doesn't teach you any nasty habits either :)
