Will cables that are specifically designed for acoustic guitars have any real advantage over regular cables? All the Acoustic cables I looked at were very expensive. I need to run my guitar through Apex Xciter pedal and a vocal Harmony processor..which requires 3 cables and is adding up to $180. Any cheaper alternatives without losing out on sound quality?

Honestly, I don't believe there is really much of an advantage to buying big expensive "Acoustic Guitar" cables honestly. Monster and other companies really reel you in with this stuff, and I can say from experience that if you buy good quality cables from jump they work from instrument to instrument. The smartest and most cost effective thing you can do is make your own instrument cables. If you are somewhat good with a soldering iron, you can make your own cables with extremely good quality cable for half the price. I use Mogami cable and that works well for me. If you don't own a soldering iron or have friends that do, I would stick with regular guitar cables and don't fall victim to such marketing ploys. Make sure to get cables with life time warranties, as you can always replace them if they break; which they will!

Good luck. :D

I've never tried my hand at soldering..but thanks a lot though. I've finally got outta the dilemma. I think I'll just go ahead and get the normal ones..with lifetime warranty.
