As an unabashed fan of the early 60's bossa nova style, I quickly ventured over to the lessons. After trying to spread my finger over four frets, I realized I'm in big trouble. I get the chords and the rhythms, but am experiencing intense pain in trying to play them, not to mention the inability to reach that far. I'm not an ape with huge reach and can bar chords and so forth, but is my guitar right for this type of music? I have a steel string acoustic and am wondering if I need to switch to a nylon stringed classical to hit these notes? If so, what guitar would you recommend as I will not stop until I have learned this method! Thanks!
