I'm with you, also looking forward to some christian songs. There are a few christian tutorials by Lisa Mccormick though.
Anyway i just practice with the country jam tracks just to see how much I'm improving. Some hymns and praise and worship would be nice though.
Until then just keep practising.

I know not everyone may not be christian and not like christian music and that's all fine as well all have our likes and dislikes but I for one and whatever other christians here at gt wouldidnt mind a bigger christian song pool hehe :) .

What makes it "Christian"....isn't it just what they sing about? The style of music or guitar playing wouldn't be "Christian", the words would be wouldn't they? You can take country, jazz, rock, alternative, or even metal and have it be "Christian".

I'm a christian myself and find great hope and comfort in gospel/christian music.
Check this video it's one of my favorite songs, enjoy.

Great point, though one can argue that, but it's quite true in the world today.
However there are those who think that christian music should have a more soft and mild feel. So that one can concentrate more on the words and not so much the instruments.

Precisely what I was going to say.

Here is a good example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZF9MMx-skc

Every member besides the singer, who doesn't write the lyrics anyway, are Christian. The initial lyrics were waaay preachy, but the guitarist who writes them toned them down for the sake of the singer.

Point being, there isnt necessarily a "Christian" genre. They dont have their own style of music or anything. As Hunter1801 stated, its merely lyrical content. The style in which your referring to (according to kjpro's youtube post) is simply rock; the lyrics make it Christian. That can apply probably to every "Christian" song; they can just consider the genre blues or country or jazz or rock etc.

On top of that, even if they did start adding some Christian songs, wouldnt they now be obligated to add songs for every other religion?

For the "mellow" stuff, it all seems waaaayyyy too simplistic to me. The vocals are the main part and pretty much carry the melody of the song. An easy way to write for this would be to come up with whatever lyrics you want (writing the melody as you go) and then just base simple chords around whatever key you are singing in or note the lyric is on. This is all just my guess though. Doesn't seem overly difficult.

Hello and welcome to GT.
I'm with you bro. Since you own a Pod x3 live, would greatly appreciate your help here.
