This is a song that I first heard at the very beginning of 2008. It took me about 5 months to learn but has remained my favourite song that I play whenever I'm down.
I want to share this because if any of you feel the way I did when I first heard it then today will become a good day for you lol.
Heres my cover of this song.
Instrumental guitar song
If you want to have a go at learning this song then you should check out John Butler's Ocean max sessions on youtube. The tuning that you need to use is a C open tuning.
Cheers
My favourite song of all time

Nice job. I am familiar with John Butler but had never heard this song before. I am pretty impressed. This song is a perfect example of writing to suite the music. John is a great player and songwriter, and I feel he strikes a good balance. There are a few moments in this song that will make your body move for certain. Peep out the video below. Great job!

Another thing; one thing I like about this song is the element of rock it has in it. Below is a video by a Canadian player named Antoine Dufour, whom is very much on par with Andy McKee (they both are on the same label, CANDY RAT.) The song is called "Inspirations", and has a similar vibe to this; although it is a bit more technical. Hopefully you will find the section of the song that reminded me of the John Butler song. Enjoy!
