Hi My name is Tyler, im 17, and im from Daytona beach, Florida USA. I love to Surf all year round. I'm one of the top weightlifters in the state and amoung the top in the nation.

I love going to parties but nothing compares to sitting down and listening to Chet Atkins and Doc Watson .. that and learning as much as I can myself.

I play a 6 string acustic guitar, its a Yamaha with guild strings. Its very nice sounding. I hope to learn many new things here and futher my talent.

I also hope to get to know some of you all. I love fingerpicking and nice riffs. Id appreciate any advice, music, tabs , or anyhting else youd offer besides what the site already provides. Thanks for your time :)

-Laios

PS. ive been playing for about a year so im not that great :P

This site is a great resource for me. Been visiting GuitarTricks for a week or two and I like it. Both content and design-wise. Easy to use the site.

I've been playing on and off for a few years and frankly I suck. Seeing people contribute their skills to a site like this is good enough motivation for me to read and hopefully pratice it too. I've been taking up some speed-picking lessons (face it, lots of us want to play fast to impress ourselves and others =) and it's been going great. I've tried to study and trained on the accuracy aswell as the speed now. I'm trying to pick in differente ways, scales etc. to improve strenght, speed and accuracy. I have actually become much better at this within days!

Today I've been practicing since 5am to 8pm as much as my body managed and I'm feeling more confident and I know it's given me a better result.

This sounds like some ****ing advert but you people and your lessons/exercises have defintely helped me and my playing. I wish only there were these great articles about sex!

Nice to have audio examples to listen to aswell.

Peace out and thanks everyone. Hopefully I can put together some Tricks to guide newbies aswell. Peace out.
Don't look at me, swan!

Hi there, it's always nice to see new people. The bigger the community, the better we'll get.

Don't be afraid to ask questions, I know I did at first but the people are nice here, they'll help you out whenever they can.

I know I will if I can.

See ya.

Ty, What Chet Atkin's CD would you recommend to someone who was looking to hear some of Chet's best playing? I'm not much of a fingerstyle player and I don't know a whole lot about Chet Atkins, but I'd be interested in learning more about him and his style of playing. Plus the Country Gentlemen is one of the coolest guitars out there today.

My personal favorite is when Chet atkins and Doc Watson play together and that is called "reflections" he also plays with Mark Knopfler(mispelled?) but i dont remember the name of that album. Doc Watson is blind mind you but I swear he is amound the best flat pickers ive ever heard.

Welcome to our universe, the Chet&Mark Knopfler album is "Neck and Neck" and it's one of the coolest albums ever, I love it, if you like Chet, you'll find some stuff you'll like on this website, keep at it..............
