I just really started listening to the blues and I have to say it's starting to take priority over the other stuff I listen to.

I just found this guy named Luther Allison and man I love his music.

Anyway, any blues recommendations?

Any blues fans around here?

I only just started getting into the blues this year. I "Discovered" SRV, and now have some Joe Bonnamassa and Kenny Wayne Shepard added to my tiny Blues collection.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

I will have to check out some of these other artists mentioned here.

Off topic, I remember the days when buying a new artist was quite a blind committment. Many an album collected dust because there was only one song worth listening to (to my ear anyway). These days with You Tube & iTune sampling, it's hard to make a purchase you won't like.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.

If you get a chance check out Luther Allison...the guy is really awesome. In my opinion anyway. :)

Check out these great blues bands: Backdoor Slam, 10 Years After, Grand Funk Railroad, Betty Sue and her Big Rockin' Daddys, The Blues Breakers, Robert Cray, Jonny Winter... man there are so many.

While you are at it, listen to the deep blues influence in the likes of Led Zeppelin, ACDC, The Dobbie Brothers, Lynard Skynard, BTO, The Guess WHo, G 'n' R, Alman Bros., ZZ Top, The Who, Canned Heat, Greatful Dead, ... just about all the classic rock bands..

Thanks for the tips on the others, Ill be sure to check em out!

I like the Blues..but just like all music, there is some Blues that I like better than others. You just have to listen to as many Blues musicians as you can,and find the ones you like best.

Always capitalize "BLUES"

I have to cast my ballot for my favorite blues man. MR BB KING. When Lucille starts to sing I have to stop and listen. I also love to hear slow hand. Eric Clapton. I wish I had 1/10 th the talent of either one of these legends! IAM hoping Guitar Tricks comes up with Sweet Little Angel or The Thrill Is Gone in the song section.

Any blues collection should include the Three Kings; BB, Albert, and Freddie. There are enough sides between these three guys to give you an idea of where most of the modern guys got their chops from... And you might want to check out Buddy Guy as well... Enjoy...
