Hi

I have recently joined this site after buying myself a Fender Strat (Lefty). I have been interested in music since I was knee high to a grass hopper but I have never set aside any time to learn an instrument, until now.

I have followed some of the beginners lessons so far (Thankyou Chris.. You have made it easy to follow) but admit that I do have sore fingers and aching hands and hope that the pain will ease the more I practice.

This site is so worth the money and I will hopefully become a regular on here so feel free to stop by and have a chat. The guitar has already become an addiction and I have found myself buying more and more stuff, with the most recent addition being a Marshall 30FX Amp.. sadly I cannot get the great sounds out of it just yet but with more practice im sure I will be rocking this house.

Thank you all for providing such a great site.

Darren

Welcome. The key is to learn how to fall in love with the process. What are some of your favorite guitarists/bands/songs, etc.?

I must admit that I am enjoying the pain, as the saying goes 'no pain, no gain' so I know its getting me somewhere.

My main interest is Rock music and I find myself inspired mainly by Dave Grohl but also Carlos Santana, Brian May and as from today Orianthi (Wow, is she good).

I am already at the point that I do not want to put the guitar down and wish that I could spend every minute of every day learning and eventually mastering this instrument but I know patience will also help.

It is great knowing that there are like minded people on here and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hello.

I think next step is to have some effects. I have some modelling one (Line 6 Pod) and they work fine for me. I agree with you, this site will help in learning and we share the same passion for rock, my oriented to pop (check the Edge tutorial it blow me away). And some of us share a love for middle east sounds, eh Rickblacker?
Keep in touch, one of the greatest thing from the site is the help from the Forum.

Carmine

Regards,

I know all about the pain in your fingers. This is only my second day with the guitar and my fingers hurt!

Keep up the good work fellas. Remember; you are encountering all the same bumps in the road that everyone else has. Stay strong, as the struggle is well worth it in the end.
