Hello everyone!

I recently started playing my OLD Ibanez RG120 electric guitar thanks to this wonderful website!

I've improved a bunch, and have the opportunity to purchase a new (to me) guitar.

Its a 1984 Gibson SG with Tremolo Pickup and Seymour Duncan pickups. Still being a novice, I really don't know much about different guitars. I'm assuming this would be a pretty big step up?

What are your thoughts on this guitar? Thanks!

Yea, sounds like a good buy. I love SGs, i have 2 and plan to get more. they have very quick action, very versitile, look sweet, and are light weight.

I got into them after I had my strat for a while. I wanted to get something from the "other side" to round things out. I looked at a bunch of LPs. they are nice but heavy and super common, I wanted something that not everyone and their uncle had, so i tried an SG and never looked back!

Enjoy that sweet axe bro!

I like the SG myself. I have a Yamaha rather than a Gibson, but it sounds and plays wonderfully.

That being said, if you like the looks and the sound, well there is nothing left to say but play the thing!! Its a keeper :)

Now it being a step up in quality, sound, or playability is dependant on the owner- you! Don't get too wrapped up in what other people think. If you like it and think it is an improvement then it is.

It does sound like a lovely ax BTW
