Hey man, you may want to take a look at the Vox AC4TV. I was in the same boat. I needed a small quality sounding tube amp for home practice. I checked out the Fender champ 600 and the Vox AC4TV. The Vox is about 100 more than the Fender (The fender was 150 the Vox 250) but the Vox was so much better. (I did exstesivly try both)

It has great clear as a bell tone, small, simple yet versitile. It has just a simple volume and tone dial. It also has a built in attenuator to adjust from 1/4 watt, 1 watt, and 4 watt. Even at 4watts, you can crank it up to get a nice tube OD without getting too loud. I can add my Tube Screemer TS 808 and get some very nice full sound out of this sucker. You could confidently mic it for live or recording too. It is absolutly perfect for small practice needs and is super quality and sound and I am 110% happy with it. I totally recomend it!
