Greetings,

So I posted a question about vibrato technique maybe an hour after joining Guitar Tricks, and I had numerous thoughtful replies-- and 4 out of 5 friends now agree-- I am making massive progress after a couple months of careful , intelligent practice. Thanks to much kind help-- it made a diffference!

The only thing I am thinking about now is how much pressure to apply, I tend to strong-arm the neck and suspect a lighter touch will yield a more subtle sound, just overjoyed it is coming along...

Good deal! And yes, you are right on about the amount of pressure applied.

Although many people do this (including some popular guitar entertainers), it really does hinder your ability to play well. Just enough pressure when fretting, picking or vibratoing is all that is required!

Best of success.
