Hello My name is BOB ( not my real name) and I have ...GAS. (guitar acquiring syndrome). I have always wanted to play guitar and it all began when I had the inkling to buy a cheap Strat copy and learn. Soon after that, I found that the action and tone of this "cheap" guitar was not to my liking and was hindering my practice. I became obsessed with guitars, looking at them on the Internet and at the Guitar Center for hours. I began to cruise the seamy underbelly neighborhood called craigslist. I found a local "guy" who hooked me up with a Gibson GS guitar, furthering my plunge into GAS. He was a likable guy, knew his guitars but I think he knew the deal he gave me would have me coming back for more. I was hooked, the feel and action of that Gibson compared to that cheapo was phenomenal.

Telecaster, Stratocaster, Les Paul, acoustic, electric.... solid body, hollow body, I want them all.... AHHHHHHHHHH when will it end. Is there any help out there for a guy suffering as I am? I feel soooo ashamed when I grope and handle another guitar just to relieve myself of GAS. After I get my "fix" at guitar center, handling and fondling a Les Paul or that American Strat, Jackson, Ibenez, I crash and am depressed for days. My home life is suffering. My wife is upset that I am so obsessed and spend hours reading about or looking at guitars on the Internet, she even bought me a subscription to a porn site just to get me off the guitar sites but I have no desire for that. I mean why look at women you know you cant have in place of a beautiful guitar that you know you can have? Oh the inhumanity of it all. Are there any GAS support groups, I can not go cold turkey....

The above is fictional, any resemblance to anyone on this site is purely
coincidental. (have a wunerful day hehehehe )
