My six year old has been begging for guitar lessons for years. I'm trying to take one step and a time and I need to get him a decent acoustic guitar. I'm wondering what the heck I'm looking for. I don't want a toy and I don't want top of the line. I haven't a clue. Any suggestions on size, brand, store...

Check with Sweetwater. They are a sponsor here. If you call them,I'm sure they can help. There is a lot of information we don't know, like how big you boy is,small, medium or large,eg,how big of a guitar can he handle? Does he want electric or acoustic?

Squire by Fender has a small electric for kidlets. Maybe check into those. We do need more info to make any suggestions though. Ok,I see you want an acoustic...I didn't read it well enough..

I know one thing,I wanted a guitar badly when I was was 6. I wonder if things might have been different if i would have got one then, instead of 30 years alter..Elvis was my hero then..
