Strings?
Hi I am a beggining guitar player and I am so confused as to which strings I need to get. I am in the middle of relearning everything and it has been years since the last time I changed them..(thank goodness I still remember HOW to change them) Whenever my strings broke before, I was little and had an in person guitar teacher who would just change them for me. Could any one suggest the type of strings they would get if they have/ had a guitar like mine? I have a Fender squier strat. I probably sound very off base to the guitar world. . lol Thanks

Hello and welcome! You are in for some real fun.
For strings, it is kindof a personal preference thing. Personally, I use number 10 Blue Steel strings on my strat. They sound great and last pretty long.
I have also used Ernie Balls, and D'Addarios on my strat. I like 10s because i get a good ballance of lows mids and highs, I play blues, and classic rock and rock.
I suggest getting some signle packs of a few different kind and guage and try em out till you find some that fit your style and sound.
Have fun!wwww

I prefer 10s also, I usually get 'Boomers' by GHS (for electric)

I have a floyd on all my guitars, do you have to change anything when from 9's to 10's? I've never played anything but 9's

You'll need to adjust the tension on the Floyd when switching to a higher/lower gauge string. You'll also probably want to re-intonate the guitar as well.
