STW, I appreciate your recommendations and will certainly look into both the strings and the Washburn. The guy that leads us at the church I attend has a Washburn and it sounds great. At the rate I'm going though I don't know if my skills will ever warrant a real good guitar. I'm three weeks in and I know all of the Major chords but still find myself struggling, mostly with the B and the F. I wonder if I'll ever get good enough to switch chords quickly.
